The SIA approved courses comprises of two parts:
Part 1 - Role and responsibilities
Part 2 – Communication & Conflict Management
The above is for Retail Security Officers, Static & Patrol, Door Supervision and Special events
The aim of the SIA (Security Industry Authority) is to increase the skill and professionalism of those employed in the Security Industry and to enhance the public's trust . Therefore anyone carrying out Door Supervision or Security Guarding must hold a valid SIA licence. You will need a SIA licence if you wish to work as a Security Officer or a Door Supervisor and are responsible for security, protection or screening the suitability of persons entering licenced premises or dealing with conflict in pubs, clubs and other licenced premises open to the public. At present time the SIA licence costs £245. The licence is valid for 3 years
